About Frank's Custom Furniture
Frank's Custom Furniture operates from Foreston, Minnesota, where it was founded in 1991 by Mike and Tamra Frank. The couple began with a modest lineup of made-to-order pieces, re-glue repairs, and antique restoration, and have since expanded into a full-time shop serving the region for over three decades. The company produces solid-wood furniture and cabinetry using traditional joinery such as dovetailing, lathe-turned veneer work, and handwoven caning—a craft they describe as a lost art. Services span custom design, cabinet building and refacing, refinishing, refurbishing, hand stripping, touch-ups, and commercial millwork, along with insurance-claim restoration. Customers include homeowners seeking heirloom-quality dining sets, bedroom suites, and built-ins; businesses needing commercial casework and trim; and insurance adjusters requiring restoration after damage. The shop also supplies unfinished furniture and replicates antique styles from Mission to Rustic. The Franks attribute their reputation to attention to detail, durability, and a collaborative design process that treats each project as a partnership.
