About Lā'aulani Woodworks LLC
Lā'aulani Woodworks LLC operates from Kailua-Kona on the island of Hawaii. The business traces its roots to traditional cabinetry and furniture making in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, before establishing itself in Kona over a decade ago. It is a family-owned operation run by a crew of three. The shop produces custom cabinetry for kitchens and baths, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces, and custom front doors, along with millwork and finish carpentry. All work is built to order using a range of wood species, with a particular emphasis on local Hawaiian hardwoods. The company handles installation for every cabinetry project it manufactures and, as of 2025, has added finish carpentry services for both its own millwork and outside jobs. Projects span traditional East Coast styles and contemporary Hawaiian designs, reflecting the founder's background in Amish-country craftsmanship and the local market's preferences. The company distinguishes itself by combining Lancaster-quality joinery and attention to detail with the unique character of island woods. Offering installation and finish carpentry under one roof allows clients to manage a project from design through final fit without coordinating multiple trades.
