About North Coast Brewing Co.
North Coast Brewing Company was founded in 1988 in Fort Bragg, California, a historic town on the Mendocino Coast. The brewery began as a local brewpub under the leadership of co‑founder and original brewmaster Mark Ruedrich, and has remained independently owned since its inception. The company produces a portfolio of craft beers that includes Red Seal Ale, Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout, Scrimshaw Pilsner, Brother Thelonious Abbey Ale, and North Coast Steller IPA. Beers are packaged in cans, bottles, and kegs at the Fort Bragg facility and distributed across 48 U.S. states as well as exported to Europe and the Pacific Rim. The brewery has earned more than 110 awards in national and international competitions. North Coast serves craft‑beer retailers, wholesale distributors, and hospitality accounts throughout its domestic network, while its export channels reach markets in Europe and the Pacific Rim. A brewery shop on site also sells packaged beer, glassware, and apparel directly to consumers. The brewery emphasizes environmental and social responsibility as core differentiators. It is a Certified B Corp and Benefit Corporation, holds TRUE Platinum Zero Waste certification, and offers 14 Non‑GMO Project Verified beers. A carbon‑farming project aims to reverse the company’s carbon footprint, reflecting its stated mission to “Make the World a Better Place, One Pint at a Time.”
