About Redirected Wood Company
Based in Glenside, Pennsylvania, Redirected Wood Company was founded by Meek and Brittany as a fundraising effort during their multi-year adoption process. The couple, both licensed counselors, turned a charity auction of a handmade table into a full-time venture after bringing their first child home from Ethiopia in 2017. The company handcrafts custom furniture from sustainably sourced solid wood, using traditional joinery methods in its workshop. Its product line spans dining tables, coffee tables, live-edge slabs, cutting boards, floating shelves, and desks for residential clients, as well as conference tables, executive desks, standing desks, reception furnishings, and storage pieces for commercial spaces. Steel bases and other materials are incorporated for commercial projects. Redirected Wood serves homeowners seeking made-to-order pieces and businesses including offices, restaurants, and hospitality venues that need custom conference tables, community tables, or high-volume desk orders. The firm offers free consultations for commercial projects and works directly with clients to tailor dimensions, wood species, and finishes. The business exists to fund the founders' mission of providing safe, loving homes for vulnerable children through adoption and foster care. Profits support their growing family and a planned internship program for youth aging out of foster care, tying each sale to a social purpose.
