About Scott Jordan Furniture Inc.
Scott Jordan Furniture Inc. was founded in 1980 by Scott Jordan as a furniture repair shop on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn's Boerum Hill neighborhood. The business began with recaning and reweaving chair seats, furniture repair, and restoration before expanding into custom solid-wood furniture production. Today the company operates a factory workshop and showroom in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, where it designs and builds heirloom-quality sofa beds, bed frames, mattresses, and cabinetry using a hybrid of CAD/CAM-driven CNC cutting, 3D modeling, and traditional hand-finishing joinery techniques. The in-house team handles custom modifications, delivery, and installation throughout New York City, navigating tight urban spaces such as Manhattan apartments and Brooklyn brownstones. The firm serves residential clients across the New York metro area and collaborates with upholstery partner American Leather on complex pieces. Its showroom displays over 25 floor models and full fabric libraries, allowing customers to experience materials and finishes firsthand. Founder Scott Jordan emphasizes non-toxic, sustainable materials—sourcing Pennsylvania cherry, Ohio/Indiana walnut, Appalachian oak, and Eastern Linden from managed forests—and applies hand-rubbed natural oil and wax finishes. The company's manufacturing paradigm shifted to full CAD/CAM in 1999, enabling one-at-a-time production with high customization for NYC interiors.
