About Traditions in Woodworking
Traditions in Woodworking operates from Columbia, Missouri, where Christian Heston founded the cabinet shop in 1995 at age 22 after purchasing a building to create lasting, everyday wood products. The shop designs, builds, and installs custom cabinets and furniture for kitchens, bathrooms, offices, and entertainment spaces, using traditional joinery, 3/4-inch plywood cases, and hand-selected lumber with coordinated grain patterns. Consulting services and custom parts are offered alongside connections to architectural glass and hardware systems. Customers range from homeowners planning remodels to commercial offices, educational institutions seeking natural toys, and beekeepers. The company has served the Columbia community for over twenty-five years, providing complimentary bids and guiding clients from design through installation. Heston started the business to build durable, American-made products at a fair price. The firm highlights its use of domestically produced plywood, lifetime-guaranteed hardware, and approved forestry practices, and it offers woodworking classes to share craftsmanship skills.
