About D.W. Woodcraft Inc.
D.W. Woodcraft, Inc. was founded in 1983 by David and Julie Rust Posey in Ava, Missouri. The company specializes in custom woodworking, producing kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, entertainment centers, bookshelves, desks, armoires, and other built-in furniture. In 1990 Posey adopted a computer-aided design and estimating system that generates cut lists for cabinet components. The operation moved to a larger facility on Highway 5 South in 1992–1993, where at its peak the shop employed nine craftsmen. Today the firm operates a showroom on Shull Street where clients can view materials and discuss projects. D.W. Woodcraft serves residential homeowners, builders, and remodelers in the Ava, Missouri area and surrounding communities. Projects range from full kitchen remodels with features such as lazy susans, custom islands with overhead storage, and integrated pantries, to bathroom vanities with double sinks and decorative wooden tub surrounds. The company also creates freestanding entertainment centers, bookshelves, and custom furniture pieces for residential spaces. The Poseys started the business to bring personalized, handcrafted cabinetry to local homes, emphasizing direct collaboration with clients to achieve a "wow factor" in each piece. The company highlights its design-to-build approach, free estimates, and a showroom that allows customers to select materials in person.
