About Waldron Woodwork
Waldron Woodwork operates from a workshop on West Grand Avenue in Chicago, Illinois. The studio was founded just over a decade ago by Jason Waldron, who left a corporate software career to pursue woodworking. The business remains founder-led and focuses on custom architectural millwork and furniture. The company designs, fabricates, and installs custom built-ins, dining tables, mudrooms, banquettes, boutique closets, and commercial woodworking for restaurants and retailers. Approximately 90% of fabrication occurs off-site in their Chicago workshop, using kiln-dried hardwoods such as American walnut, white oak, and ash, along with cabinet-grade plywood. Finishes feature commercial-grade lacquer and Blum soft-close hardware. The studio provides 3D renderings and finish samples before production. Waldron Woodwork serves residential clients across Chicago and the North Shore (Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Glencoe, Lake Forest) and commercial clients including Michelin-starred restaurants, chef José Andrés, and historic Frank Lloyd Wright homes. Projects range from $4,000–$8,000 for dining tables to $8,000–$25,000+ for architectural built-ins. The studio differentiates itself through a founder-led model that limits active projects, off-site fabrication to minimize disruption, white-glove installation with scribe-fitting, a $4 million umbrella liability policy, and a commitment to using no MDF or particle board for structural components.
