About WoodWorkingHawaii.com
WoodWorkingHawaii.com operates from a woodshop in Waimanalo on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The business was started by Kini Ziegner out of a personal passion for working with wood; Ziegner passed away in April 2024, and the team continues his work. The shop sits about 20 minutes from Honolulu and doubles as a showroom where visitors can view pieces by appointment. The company builds custom furniture from tropical hardwoods reclaimed on Oahu — primarily Monkey Pod and Koa — sourced from dead trees and construction sites using portable sawmills and chainsaws. The product line spans dining tables, coffee tables, chairs, benches, headboards, sofa tables, entryway tables, TV stands, canoe paddles, round tables, desks, slab tables, live‑edge pieces, floating shelves, wall hangings and mirrors. Each piece is made to order to fit the customer’s space. WoodWorkingHawaii serves residential clients across Oahu, offering delivery of dining sets island‑wide and discounts to military personnel with delivery to all Oahu bases. The showroom is open weekdays and by appointment on weekends. The operation distinguishes itself through its hyper‑local material cycle — harvesting, milling and finishing wood from the same island — and by positioning each table as a future family heirloom. The founder’s original motivation, a love of woodworking, remains the stated guiding principle.
