About Country Rustics Log Furniture
Country Rustics Log Furniture operates from Mercer, Maine, where it handcrafts white cedar log furniture using traditional techniques. The company describes itself as a furniture maker rather than a retailer, emphasizing direct-from-the-builder sales. The product line includes log beds, dressers, nightstands, coffee tables, end tables, benches, and custom-made pieces. Each item is built by a senior craftsman employing old-world construction and finishing methods, with timber carefully selected for strength and natural beauty. The company maintains a large inventory of log beds in all standard sizes. Country Rustics sells directly to consumers, bypassing traditional furniture stores. The firm distinguishes itself through a quality-over-quantity philosophy, rejecting mass-production in favor of meticulous attention to detail. Its artisans, described as lifelong Mainers, take pride in craftsmanship that aims to produce furniture capable of standing the test of time.
