About Wood Originals
Wood Originals is a custom woodworking shop based in Watertown, Wisconsin. Founded in 1972 by John, who began crafting custom cabinets in a small garage in the Milwaukee area, the business later moved to Watertown and expanded into a 24-by-64-foot workshop at the owner’s home. The operation is run with his wife, Terri, whom he married in 1977. The company specializes in custom cabinetry and woodworking for residential and office spaces, including kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms. All work is handcrafted using all-wood construction, with projects ranging from a single piece to an entire room. The shop operates out of a home-based workshop, and the owner personally handles design, fabrication, and installation. The company works directly with clients to design pieces that fit their budget and space. John started the business out of a passion for carpentry, and the company emphasizes affordable, handcrafted custom work designed and installed with the client’s budget in mind. The “home is our showroom” approach allows clients to see the workshop and discuss projects in person.
